Hate & violence have been part of human nature for as long as we have been around. these forces have helped us become more creative, more alert more alive.
War has asked for more invention and creativity than peace. Violence has sparked the human soul to shine beyond its limits. Hate has brought the best and the word of humankind.
We do not want to celebrate it or hide away it but to acknowledge it, and to visually talk about it.
For we believe that imagemaking may spark hope and motivation to talk about these issues and to stop violence

The project try to make a reflection about the possible (but improbable) futures of Ecuador. This reflections would use the vehicles of science fiction the costumbristic construction and another documental genres. The same vehicles that traditionally was used to make the chronicles of Ecuador to the world.
It is important to say that "Pretéritos Futuros" it's at the end a self critic of today ecuadorian people, our idiosyncrasy and peculiarity. It's a re-lecture, a re-thinking of todays country with a projection to the future.
